Founding Story
IT STARTED WITH THE MILES.
For years, we traveled almost every week for consulting. One flight became
another. One city became the next. Airports, hotels, meetings, early
mornings, and late arrivals became part of our routine.
And when you travel that much, you start noticing things.
You notice how your wheels behave after hours of movement. You notice how
a handle feels when you're pulling a loaded suitcase through an airport.
You notice what happens when luggage gets dropped, dragged, loaded and
handled again and again.
Premium luggage often looked impressive but failed when subjected to the
realities of frequent travel: wheels wore down, handles loosened,
components broke. The products we relied on most weren't built to perform
at the level modern travel demanded.
Eventually, we realized something: the problem wasn't a lack of luxury.
It was a lack of engineering.
"We weren't looking for luggage that simply looked good. We wanted luggage
that could keep up."
That became the starting point for HYVL.
We began looking at the suitcase differently not as a fashion accessory,
but as a product that had to perform under real travel conditions. That
meant looking deeper into materials, construction, wheels, handles, and
the way individual components work together.
But it also meant going beyond the lab.
Factory testing tells you how a suitcase performs under controlled
conditions. It doesn't tell you how it behaves after a missed connection,
a rough baggage carousel, or the back seat of a rideshare in the rain.
So alongside our factory-tested durability benchmarks, we tested HYVL
ourselves for a full year, out on the road, through the same conditions
we were designing for.
Over 100,000 miles. More than 100 touchdowns. Every terminal, every
carousel, every overhead bin.
Because after years on the road, we'd learned something simple:
YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW YOUR LUGGAGE UNTIL YOU TRAVEL WITH IT.
HYVL is the luggage we wanted when we were traveling every week. Designed
around the realities we experienced. Engineered around the demands we
understood. Tested the way it's meant to be used not just in a lab, but
in life. Built for wherever the road takes you next.
